Furniture and Cabinet making Courses
This course is the most basic of the furniture making courses we offer but is ideal for anyone interested in carpentry & joinery, or interested in learning about furniture making but has limited or no experience of woodwork. Intermediate Cabinet /Furniture Making Awarding Body: NOCN Length of Course: 10 weeks Course dates: 09/06/08 – 12/08/08 (Mon & Tues) Cost: £530 (Deposit: £132.50) - Payment plan available Maximum Number of students: 12 Previous experience required: Cabinet Making for Beginners, or some carpentry experience Overview: During this course the learner will learn a little more about making joints, and assembling furniture from pieces of wood. Starting from nothing the student will be expected to create a piece of furniture which they would be happy to have in their own home. Students are allowed to keep the work they produce. During the course you will be taught jointing and assembly as well as how to manipulate wood and construct cabinets and furniture to a strong finish. By the end of the course the student should have produced a piece of furniture to a standard which they would be proud to have in their home, which they are allowed to keep. |
